Zhang Yaxi was an invited sculptor at the 1st International Sculpture Festival in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China in May 2005.

The monumental sculpture she created is a stylized nude female form - modelled in clay and then reproduced using copper sheets welded onto a steel armature.
